Richard K. "Rich” Cooperider
Richard K. “Rich” Cooperider, 62, of Cardington, died at his residence Tuesday evening (May 10, 2011).
He was born on Nov. 25, 1948 in Columbus to the late Harry and Fannie (Long) Cooperider. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a self-employed security system installer. Rich enjoyed drag racing and spent time at the Pacemakers Drag Strip in Mount Vernon where he raced, worked and watched his grandson race a junior dragster. Rich also liked to spend time with his family at Cedar Point riding the roller coasters, also camping and canoeing at Mohican.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Ruth (Richeimer) Cooperider and they were married September 19, 1971 in Columbus; son, Tim of Cardington; daughters, Michelle Keplar of Cardington and Kimberly Cooperider of Cardington; grandchildren, Megan, Steven, Kyle, Jonathan, BJ and Noah; and sister, Rudyann Arnold of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by brothers, John and Eddie.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 7 p.m. memorial service on Tuesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
