Anne R. Norris (Bott)
Anne R. Norris (Bott), 91, died Wednesday (June 22, 2011) at Sarah Moore Health Care Center.
She was born March 8, 1920 in Charlottesville, Va., to Dallas and Mary Edna Rhodes and later became the stepdaughter of Lloyd Bilger of Columbus. Anne graduated from Columbus East High School. As a homemaker, she was a member and Sunday school teacher for 15 years at the Worthington Methodist Church. Since 1958 she was an active member of William Street United Methodist Church. She was a member of O.E.S., Lady Elks, Progressive Mothers Club, Girl Scout troop leader and administrator of Central Ohio Council for Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels driver, cancer patient driver, host family for foreign exchange students, avid bowler and golfer, member of Grady hospital auxiliary, Willis and Hayes Athletic Boosters and endless volunteer positions. Dearest to her heart was the Sarah Moore Home service board where she served since 1960 (president for nine of those years) until her death. A true friend to all, she lived a life of service to others.
She is survived by four children, Carol (Bill) Rapp of Indian Lake, Terri (Ed) Bischoff of Powell, Dick (Sherry) Norris of Delaware and Nancy Viglianti of Portage, Mich.; 14 grandchildren, Ted and Tom Rapp, Jeff (Mary) Bischoff, Heidi (Lee) Pisacano, David(Patty) Bischoff, Pam (Tom) Patton, Doug (Yasel) Bischoff, Amy Graham, Tim (Jen) Norris, David Norris, Debbie (Sean) Graham, Abbe and Krista Viglianti and Kendra (Jon) Noll; a special son, Bill Strohm; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Sally Camella and Lois Null; nephews, Mike and Steve Norris; and a cousin, Kay Goode.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert Norris of Delaware; husband of six years, Harry Bott of Worthington; and a sister, Janis Corcoran of Columbus.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Robinson Funeral Home where a service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Mike Norris officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
