Janet C. Seely

Janet C. Seely, 71, passed away on Mon­day (June 13, 2011) at Bap­tist Med­ical Cen­ter South in Mont­gomery, Ala.

Janet was born Aug. 5, 1939 to the late Clif­ford E. and Vir­ginia ( Cox) Easter in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a mem­ber of the Hyde Park Methodist church and later the Lewis Cen­ter United Methodist church. She grad­u­ated from Wash­ing­ton Uni­ver­sity in St. Louis, Mo., and later went on to receive her master’s degree at Uni­ver­sity of Cincin­nati. She taught for 32 years in the Cincin­nati Pub­lic Schools as a spe­cial ed teacher. Janet loved spend­ing time with her grand­chil­dren more than any­thing. They were her pride and Joy. She loved her fam­ily very much and enjoyed tak­ing them on vaca­tion includ­ing her extended family.

Sur­vivors include her hus­band, Charles Seely; daugh­ter Deb­o­rah (Seely) Lantz; son-in-law, Ken­neth Lantz; grand­chil­dren, Nicholas and Eliz­a­beth Lantz; and nieces, Joy Pryor, Tracey Boiseeau and families.

She was pre­ceded in death by her son, Gre­gory Charles Seely; and her sis­ter, Gwen Raines.

A pri­vate Cel­e­bra­tion of Life cer­e­mony was held at the Lewis Cen­ter United Methodist Church in Lewis Cen­ter Ohio on June 18.
