‘Green’ baby resources
My time until D-day is closing in … only a few weeks left until baby arrives. I have been doing some research into some green baby resources just to see what’s out there and what’s new. There are so many options available for eco-friendly items and baby care and I needed to find a central place to look and to process all this information. Quite frankly, it’s overwhelming.
Below I’ve listed a few websites that, although I haven’t investigated thoroughly, do seem helpful in advice and feedback for the organic baby.
-Organic Baby Resource: With the motto “Nurture your Baby with Nature in Mind,” this extensive site offers articles, reviews, a blog, videos, discounts and coupons and a baby food guide among other resources. This is a good place to start with any questions you might have or ideas you might need. I plan to check it out often.
-Swap Baby Goods: This website is an online marketplace to swap, buy and sell new and used baby items that are no longer needed. Sounds like a great idea. I know with my other children, I was a huge Once Upon a Child fan — a great resale shop with locations all over Central Ohio. The idea of swapping is a great one, though. Might have to look into that.
-Raising Baby Organic : This comprehensive site is nice because it takes a look at organic baby care including: feeding, dressing, bedding, toys, skin care, etc … It has a list of baby food recipes and, if you’re a reader like me, you’ll appreciate the list of books on related topics.
While it still blows my mind that I am even writing this column at the age of 44, we are so excited to welcome another little one into this world. Will I be a die-hard “green” mom? No. But I am doing my best to navigate all the choices and give this newborn a healthy, less toxic start in this world. I have lots of younger and even older moms who are inspiring and encouraging me in this new territory. If you have any tips and tricks, please feel free to share them at newsroom@delgazette.com. I’ll include your ideas in a future column. Thanks!
