Lois M. Cosby, 82, of Delaware, died Monday (July 25, 2011) at Willow Brook Christian Village.
She was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Byesville to Raymond and Mary Frances (Sarchet) Phillips. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946 and married Richard L. Cosby Aug. 20, 1949. Lois resided in Westerville from 1981 until 1993 before coming to Delaware. She graduated from Otterbein College School of Nursing in 1984 and was employed as an R.N. at St. Ann’s Hospital and was former founder and co-owner of the Westerville Senior Retreat, an Alzheimer’s Day Care Center. Lois enjoyed sewing, singing, and her flower gardens. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delaware.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Stephen) Blatchly of Sidney; her two sons, Mark (Sherry) of Middleburg, Va., and Jeff (Robbie) of Dublin; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna (Robert) Tobin of Zellwood, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in August 1981; a brother, David Phillips; and a sister, Marjorie Mattison.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Schriber officiating. Burial will be in the Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America.
