Lois M. Cosby

Lois M. Cosby, 82, of Delaware, died Mon­day (July 25, 2011) at Wil­low Brook Chris­t­ian Village.

She was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Byesville to Ray­mond and Mary Frances (Sar­chet) Phillips. She grad­u­ated from Cam­bridge High School in 1946 and mar­ried Richard L. Cosby Aug. 20, 1949. Lois resided in West­er­ville from 1981 until 1993 before com­ing to Delaware. She grad­u­ated from Otter­bein Col­lege School of Nurs­ing in 1984 and was employed as an R.N. at St. Ann’s Hos­pi­tal and was for­mer founder and co-owner of the West­er­ville Senior Retreat, an Alzheimer’s Day Care Cen­ter. Lois enjoyed sewing, singing, and her flower gar­dens. She was a mem­ber of First Pres­by­ter­ian Church in Delaware.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Susan (Stephen) Blatchly of Sid­ney; her two sons, Mark (Sherry) of Mid­dle­burg, Va., and Jeff (Rob­bie) of Dublin; six grand­chil­dren; three great-grandchildren; and a sis­ter, Donna (Robert) Tobin of Zell­wood, Fla.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Richard in August 1981; a brother, David Phillips; and a sis­ter, Mar­jorie Mattison.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thurs­day at the Robin­son Funeral Home, Delaware, where a funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Schriber offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will be in the North­wood Ceme­tery in Cambridge.
