Ralph M. “Buck” Haegele

Ralph M. “Buck” Haegele, 71, of John­stown passed away on Tues­day (July 5, 2011) at River­side Hos­pi­tal in Columbus.

Buck was born on Oct. 9, 1939. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Buck was very active in the local agri­cul­tural com­mu­nity, as an advi­sor for FFA and 4-H Clubs. Buck was a past pres­i­dent of the Hart­ford Fair Board and served on var­i­ous fair com­mit­tees. He was a mem­ber of the Oliver Trac­tor Club. Buck loved to travel, golf and col­lect Oliver and John Deere Tractors.

Buck is sur­vived by best friend of more than 20 years and wife, Angela Swackhammer-Haegele; his lov­ing chil­dren, Ron­nie Haegele of Dublin, Dar­lene Haegele of Del Mar, Calif., and Tina Haegele of John­stown; his brother, Charles Haegele of John­stown; sis­ters, Helen (Ray) Brown of Wor­thing­ton, Dorothy Weller of Hous­ton, and Carla (Mike) Wat­son of Indi­anapo­lis; his beloved com­pan­ion, “Pri­cilla”; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Buck was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Carl and Daisy (Krumm) Haegele; sis­ter, Mary Frances; brother, Carl; and sister-in-law, Deb­bie Haegele.

Fam­ily will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home on Fri­day, July 8. A funeral ser­vice will be held at 9 a.m. Sat­ur­day, July 9, at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N Main St., John­stown with the Rev. Steve Hayes offi­ci­at­ing. Inter­ment to fol­low at Jer­sey Ceme­tery, Pataskala.
