Greyhounds end Pioneers’ magical run
Ralph M. “Buck” Haegele, 71, of Johnstown passed away on Tuesday (July 5, 2011) at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
Buck was born on Oct. 9, 1939. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Buck was very active in the local agricultural community, as an advisor for FFA and 4-H Clubs. Buck was a past president of the Hartford Fair Board and served on various fair committees. He was a member of the Oliver Tractor Club. Buck loved to travel, golf and collect Oliver and John Deere Tractors.
Buck is survived by best friend of more than 20 years and wife, Angela Swackhammer-Haegele; his loving children, Ronnie Haegele of Dublin, Darlene Haegele of Del Mar, Calif., and Tina Haegele of Johnstown; his brother, Charles Haegele of Johnstown; sisters, Helen (Ray) Brown of Worthington, Dorothy Weller of Houston, and Carla (Mike) Watson of Indianapolis; his beloved companion, “Pricilla”; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Daisy (Krumm) Haegele; sister, Mary Frances; brother, Carl; and sister-in-law, Debbie Haegele.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, July 8. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N Main St., Johnstown with the Rev. Steve Hayes officiating. Interment to follow at Jersey Cemetery, Pataskala.
