Iran nuclear talks snag over dueling demands
Reuben A. Spradlin, 81, of Delaware passed away Tuesday morning (Aug. 16, 2011) at the Laurels of Worthington.
He was born Dec. 14, 1929 in Lyndsey, Oklahoma to William Alva and May (Coffey) Spradlin. He was a former salesman for National Life Insurance Company and then held several other sales positions. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, tractors, cars, fixing things and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by five daughters, Brenda (Wendell) Nolan of Neptune Beach, Fla., Reubena (Billy) Alford of Houston, Miss., Darla Spradlin of Norman, Okla., Denise (Melvin) Heilaman of Edmond, Okla., and Jessie (Jeff) Dean of Delaware; son, Reuben Dean (Betty) Spradlin of Columbus; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eddie (Barbara) Spradlin of Folsom, Calif., Dean (Debbie) Spradlin of North Carolina, and Alton Spradlin of Harrah, Okla.; three sisters, Rubye (Kenneth) Logan of Harrah, Okla., Kathryn (Delbert) Weaver of Midwest City, Okla., and Peggy Miller of Euless, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters, Mendy and Shelly Oxley; grandson, William Alva Alford; three brothers, Harold, Wayne and Bill Spradlin; and two infant sisters, Frances and Carolyn Spradlin.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will then take place in Cheshire Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Community Room immediately following the graveside services.
