Lois Anne Brooks

Lois Anne Brooks passed away Sat­ur­day (Sept. 10, 2011) in her home­town and birth­place of Delaware.

She was born to William A. and Gladys I. (Oyer) Brooks who pre­ceded her in death. She is also pre­ceded in death by her broth­ers, Thomas W. Brooks and David R. Brooks.

She is sur­vived by her Aunt Edna (Deane) Carter of Frank­fort, Ohio; niece, Erin W. Mur­phy of Hawaii; great-nieces and her cousin, Eulah Oyer; and many, many dear friends.

Lois blazed a trail at the law firm of Kegler Brown Hill & Rit­ter where she became one of the first of para­le­gals in Cen­tral Ohio. She made life­long friends at the firm and men­tored many oth­ers dur­ing her 26 years before retire­ment in 1998. She was an avid seam­stress, vol­un­teer and most impor­tantly a lover of ani­mals. She co-founded the Heart of Ohio Boxer Res­cue in 1989 and saved count­less neglected ani­mals from abuse and found new lov­ing homes. Her faith­ful bull­dog, Maudie, will miss her kind and ador­ing human.
