M. Lou Barker

M. Lou Barker, 82, of Lewis Cen­ter passed away Fri­day evening (Sept. 16, 2011) at River­side Methodist Hos­pi­tal, Columbus.

She was born Feb. 24, 1929 in Geneva, Iowa to Merle and Neda (Wood­ley) Clock. She was a home­maker, 35 year res­i­dent of Lewis Cen­ter, and a mem­ber of the Lib­erty Pres­by­ter­ian Church. She enjoyed flower and veg­etable gar­den­ing and rais­ing schnau­zers. She also had a true love for all animals.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of 61 years, Mil­ton; two daugh­ters, Becky (Kevin) Fix and Terri (Michael) Bruce, all of Wadsworth; son, Brad (Amy) of Muncie, Ind.; eight grand­chil­dren, Kris­ten Nardo, Natalie Arnold, Jason and Annie Bruce, Hay­ley and Elliot Fix and Bai­ley and Kelsey Barker; three great-grandchildren, Andrew and Syd­ney Nardo and Chloe Arnold, and one great-grandson on the way; three broth­ers, Mer­lin, Den­nis and Richard Clock; sis­ter, Patri­cia Verink; and numer­ous nieces and nephews.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and two broth­ers, Jim and Jerry Clock.

Pri­vate Cel­e­bra­tion of Life ser­vices will be held at a later date at the Lib­erty Pres­by­ter­ian Church.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily requests con­tri­bu­tions be made in Lou’s mem­ory to the Ohio Wildlife Fund, ohiowildlifecenter.org.
