Orange’s Doug Ganim picked up a marathon 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 win over Vick Chhabria at first singles, but Liberty battled for wins on the other four courts, two of the four finishing up as three-set thrillers, to capture a 4-1 non-league win Thursday in Powell.

The Patriots’ Kyle Flahive and Kevin Pang picked up the squad’s singles wins, with Flahive knocking off the Pioneers’ Tim Hawk 6-4, 6-3 at second singles and Pang outlasting P.J. Dahn 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 at third singles.

Liberty’s won both doubles matches. Manu Matsa and Shashank Sirivolu combined to defeat Ryan Jay and Joseph Lee by a 7-5, 6-4 margin at first doubles while Andrew Topinka and Alex Hernandez knocked off Jonathan Ricci and Jon Peddicord 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at second doubles.

Hayes 4, Jonathan Alder 1

The Pacers, highlighted by a three hour, three-set win by Nick Tanuredjo at first singles, notched an impressive non-league win over the Pioneers Thursday in Delaware.

Tanuredjo lost the second set of his showdown with Jonathan Alder’s Denis Aurelius, 3-6, by won the first and third by respective margins of 7-5 and 6-3 to secure the win.

Other Hayes winners included Josh Byerly, who beat David Troyer 6-3, 6-1 at second singles; Hyeon Woo Bae, who dropped Duffy Moser 6-1, 7-5 at third singles; and the duo of Colton Richard and Nathan Bonofiglio, who knocked off Samuel Schappelpei and Kegan Yoder 6-4, 6-2 at first doubles.
