Hester Marie Thomas

Hes­ter Marie Thomas, 86, of Delaware passed away Tues­day evening (Oct. 11, 2011) at the Sarah Moore Health Care Center.

She was born Feb. 18, 1925 in Mason County, W.Va., to Jesse and Marie Woyan. She was a life­long res­i­dent of Delaware, where she was res­i­dent man­ager for the Olen­tangy View Apart­ment Com­plex. She enjoyed trav­el­ing and camp­ing, fam­ily time and espe­cially her grand­kids. She was affil­i­ated with the United Methodist Church.

She is sur­vived by daugh­ters, Loretta (Dwayne) Gard­ner and Sharon (Gary) Huff, both of Delaware; son, Steven (Karen) Thomas of Mar­ion; five grand­chil­dren, Jeff (Adria) War­wick, Wendy (Kathy) West­wick, Stanya (Dave) Doty, Mel­lany (Par­nell) Kelly and Robert Thomas; the love of her life, James E. Thomas of Delaware; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Lil­lian War­wick, Tyler and Nathan Doty, Jar­rett and Jay­den West­wick, Everett Sharp and Izabella Kelly; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ayden and Mad­dox Stultz.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and a brother, Junior.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 14, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home where ser­vices will be held at 10 a.m. Sat­ur­day with inter­ment to fol­low at For­est Grove Ceme­tery near Plain City. The fam­ily will then host a gath­er­ing of friends and rel­a­tives, fol­low­ing the com­mit­tal ser­vice, at the Coun­cil For Older Adults.
