If you haven’t stopped in the Delaware County Community Market on E. William St. in Delaware for awhile or even at all, make a point of popping in this fall. The Market has grown in its first year and a half of operation and now has 3,344 customers, supports 84 non-profits and sells articles from 117 local vendors. The whole purpose of this non-profit store and deli is to donate 20 percent of its sales to local charities.

Local chef Bo Reed is busy in the deli cooking up delicious daily lunch specials and can also put together any kind of catering for your special needs. The deli also sells meats and cheeses by the pound.

Fall is a great time to experience the dynamic offerings at the Market. Not only is local produce like pumpkins, squash, eggplant, garlic, assorted peppers and more available, but delicious autumn-themed baked goods will entice you as well. Then there are the creative home and gift goods like fall-scented homemade soy candles, decorative dish towels, warm scarves and hats, exquisite pottery, pictures, and jewelry and OSU-themed merchandise.

Halloween festivities will be in full swing on Sunday, Oct. 30 (the last Sunday the Market is open until spring), and Monday, Oct. 31. Dress in costume or in black or orange for a free half-pound of Bo’s famous chicken or ham salad (one per family). Treats will be available for kids, as well as pumpkin decorating for a small fee.

The Market is located at 222 E. William St. next to the Triple Crown liquor store. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 30, the Market can be reached at 740-610-0091.

Enjoy shopping local goods and donating to local charity all in one place!
