Gi U “MeJa” Minott, 73, passed away at the Kobacker House, Columbus, on Sunday (Sept. 25, 2011).

She was born on July 8, 1938 in Milyang, South Korea, and immigrated to West Virginia on April 21, 1961. MeJa’s greatest hobby and enjoyment was gardening and she developed a large home garden with an extensive collection of fruit, decorative trees, vegetables and flowers. MeJa loved to give tours of her gardens for all her friends, neighbors and many visitors and to give them samples of whatever fruits, berries or flowers that were available.

She is survived by her husband of 51 plus years, John D. Minott; daughter, Olivia J. Minott; and brother-in-law, Peter (Arlene) Minott.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (just south of Interstate 270). The date and time of the graveside service will be announced at the visitation and will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High Street (U.S. 23), Lewis Center, (614-888-1805).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in MeJa’s memory to your local humane society.
