Nettie Fogle

Nettie Fogle, 85, went to meet the Lord on Saturday (Oct. 29, 2011).

Nettie was born in Raceland, Ky., to Nettie V. Tilley-Carter and Landon Carter. She came to Delaware County as a young girl where she lived for the remainder of her life. She went to Radnor School and moved to Delaware in 1941. She worked at Kilgores in Westerville, also Ranco, Delo Screw in Delaware, B.F. Goodrich in Green Camp, The Delaware Gazette and Premier Printing in Marysville. Nettie was a member of the Moose Lodge, Amvets 102, (past president of the ladies auxiliary) and was a life time Member of VFW and Eagles. Nettie loved music and dancing. She was a very special person, beautiful, inside and out. She always gave to others. Always wanted to give everyone a “little something.” Nettie loved animals. There was no animal that didn’t connect to her. She was the same way with people and children. Children were drawn to her. Everyone she met, she would tell them to just call her “granny.” Family was her entire world.

Nettie leaves behind two daughters, Elizabeth (Bob) Smith and Beverly (Harley) Hall; granddaughters, Pam Rutherford and Angela Horner (Doug) Clark; grandson, Andrew (Angie) Horner; great-grandsons, “Her Boys,” Brian Horner, Corey (Amber) Hedges, Justin (Rachel) Hedges, Tyler Horner, Zack Rutherford and Darren Clark; great-great-granddaughter, Grace Lee Hedges; great-great-grandson-to-be, “Carter” Hedges; Nettie’s brother, Arnold J. Carter; her sisters-in-law, Josephine Carter and Georgeanna Osborne; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard Carter and Arlie Ray Carter and Grover and Hoover Osborne; her twin sister, Nellie M. Carter; grandson, Mike Smith; beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; and sisters-in-law, Jean Carter and Edna Osborne.

Nettie will be buried at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Radnor Cemetery. In celebration of her life, there will be a pot luck dinner after the burial at 2 p.m. in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home Community Room. Please bring a covered dish, your pictures and your memories.
