Andrew Martin Fisher

Andrew Mar­tin Fisher, 68, of 120 S. Meet­ing St., Statesville, N.C., passed away Tues­day (Dec. 20, 2011) at Davis Regional Med­ical Cen­ter, after an extended illness.

He was born July 31, 1943 in Delaware County to Made­line B. Clark Fisher of Statesville and the late Clyde M. Fisher who died in 1978. Mr. Fisher served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from C. M. Fisher and Sons. He was a mem­ber of the VFW and was also affil­i­ated with Com­mand Bap­tist Church.

“The youngest of my pre­cious children…God must have wanted him. He took him home, I believe.”

In addi­tion to his mother, he is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Sherry Fisher Williams of Rat­cliff, Okla.; two broth­ers, Kenny Fisher of Geor­gia and Mil­lard Fisher of Ohio; one sis­ter, Linda Mor­gan of Statesville; three grand­chil­dren, Skyler Williams, Dakota Williams and Alexis Williams; and sev­eral nephews and nieces.

In addi­tion to his father and grand­par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by one sis­ter, Carol Lee Fisher.

A grave­side ser­vice will be con­ducted at 2 p.m. Fri­day, Dec. 23, at Com­mand Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery. The Rev. Jim Mor­gan will offi­ci­ate. The fam­ily will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the ser­vice at Com­mand Bap­tist Church.
