Eddie D. Wells
Eddie D. Wells, 72, of Delaware passed away Friday (Dec. 2, 2011) at Kobacker House in Columbus following a two month illness.
He was born in Leonardsburg on July 25, 1939, the youngest child of the late DeWitt and Mary (Cackler) Wells. A graduate of Elm Valley High School in 1957, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was lifelong farmer of both grain and livestock. Eddie was a member of the Delaware Moose and Marion Eagle Lodges. He was stubborn and freely spoke his mind. A fan of country music, he enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and card games, Texas Holdem was his favorite. Not one to show his feelings, he was always concerned and loving. Described as “amazing” by his children and grandchildren, there was never a moment in their lives that they ever questioned his love for them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Carole (Adams); children, Deborah Wells of South Dakota, Karen (Walter) Herren of Delaware, Randall Linstedt (CeAnn Allen) of Marengo and Eddie “Speedy” Wells of Ashley; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren including Tinker Bell; sisters, Sally (Ted) Messner of Columbus and Joan Wells of Delaware.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by son, Randy Wells; and daughter, Kimberly Rushia, both in 2009; and sister, Erma Jean Hesson in 2000.
