Rose Carpenter Smith

Rose Car­pen­ter Smith, 79, of Galena, passed away on Dec. 24, 2011 at her home. Pro­ceeded in death by her lov­ing hus­band of 49 years, Roy L. Smith, Sr. Rose is sur­vived by her chil­dren Mar­i­lyn Hazen, Michael Smith and wife Brid­get Hahn, Roy Smith, Jr. and wife Kitty, Brian Smith and wife Clau­dia, Melinda Hines and hus­band Mark; six grand­chil­dren; nine great-grandchildren; sis­ter Jena­vive Roth­well and hus­band Larry; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tues­day at the Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State Street, West­er­ville, OH where ser­vice will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednes­day. Linda Mered­ith offi­ci­at­ing. Inter­ment will be at Cheshire Ceme­tery. In lieu of flow­ers, friends may if they wish, con­tribute to the Alzheimer Association.
