Darlyene (Carmack) Sweitzer
Darlyene (Carmack) Sweitzer, 74, of Delaware died on Tuesday evening (Jan. 3, 2012).
Darlyene was affectionately known as “Nana” by her three granddaughters, Tiffani and Stephani DuScheid of Dublin and Ella Sweitzer of Columbus. Darlyene graduated from Akron Garfield High School and later the Hammel Actual Business College where she developed her work skills as an executive assistant to several corporations over her career. She was also past president of Beta Sigma Phi Akron chapter, a business women’s professional sorority. Darylene was a woman of strong faith and love of family now resting in God’s arms.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom Sweitzer; daughter, Tami (David) DuScheid of Dublin; son, Darrel of Bucyrus; and her twin brother, Darrel Carmack of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Carmack.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Liberty Presbyterian Church (The Barn Church), 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, with the Rev. Becky Hart officiating. A reception will immediately follow the services and then graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at nearby Kingwood Memorial Park, where her son Stephen peacefully rests.
