Robert D. Sparks

Robert D. Sparks, 81, of Sun­bury, passed away early Fri­day (Jan. 6, 2012) at his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Lon­don, and was a retired elec­tri­cian for Rock­well Inter­na­tional. He was a res­i­dent since 1961. He served in the United States Navy dur­ing the Korean War and was a mem­ber of the Delaware Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 376. He enjoyed camp­ing, fish­ing and being a grandpa.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Call); four sons, John Bent­ley of Mar­ion, Robert L. (Betty) Sparks of Delaware, Richard (Margo) Sparks of Sun­bury and James of Delaware; a daugh­ter, Rita (Charles) Days of Galion; eight grand­chil­dren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sis­ter, Jenny of Eugene, Ore.

He was pre­ceded in death by five broth­ers and his parents.

Pri­vate ser­vices will be held at the family’s convenience.
