Robert E. ‘Bob’ Vigar

Robert E. “Bob” Vigar, 70, of Delaware, passed away unex­pect­edly Mon­day (Jan. 16, 2012) at River­side Hospital.

He was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Colum­bus to Edward E. and Ildreth Steg­ner Vigar. A life­long area res­i­dent, he was a grad­u­ate of Olen­tangy High School, class of 1960. He is retired from the Colum­bus & South­ern and AEP elec­tric com­pa­nies; cur­rently, he was a sales­man with the Dis­ben­nett Real Estate Com­pany. Bob enjoyed golf­ing, trav­el­ing and gam­bling and his fam­ily but most espe­cially his grand­chil­dren. He had a host of friends and a soft spot for all of God’s creatures.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Julie; three daugh­ters, Shel­ley (Kym) Low­ery of Delaware, Mitzi (Bob) Amon of Pow­ell and Dorri Ozark of Tuc­son, Ariz.; a son, Matt (Rachel) Vigar of Jones, Okla.; nine grand­chil­dren; five great-grandchildren; sev­eral nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, John White of Sun­bury; brothers-in-law, John White of Sun­bury and Jim (Margie) White of Delaware; an aunt, Betty (Art) Grooms of Ash­ley; and Fuzzy and Yellow.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; a brother, Myron, and his wife, Sarah; a sis­ter, Tina Louise (at birth); and his canine buddy, Mandy.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Fri­day, Jan. 20, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, and from 1 p.m. until ser­vice time at 2 p.m. Sat­ur­day with bur­ial to fol­low at Green­mound Ceme­tery in Kilbourne.
