Robert E. ‘Bob’ Vigar
Robert E. “Bob” Vigar, 70, of Delaware, passed away unexpectedly Monday (Jan. 16, 2012) at Riverside Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Columbus to Edward E. and Ildreth Stegner Vigar. A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Olentangy High School, class of 1960. He is retired from the Columbus & Southern and AEP electric companies; currently, he was a salesman with the Disbennett Real Estate Company. Bob enjoyed golfing, traveling and gambling and his family but most especially his grandchildren. He had a host of friends and a soft spot for all of God’s creatures.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; three daughters, Shelley (Kym) Lowery of Delaware, Mitzi (Bob) Amon of Powell and Dorri Ozark of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Matt (Rachel) Vigar of Jones, Okla.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, John White of Sunbury; brothers-in-law, John White of Sunbury and Jim (Margie) White of Delaware; an aunt, Betty (Art) Grooms of Ashley; and Fuzzy and Yellow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Myron, and his wife, Sarah; a sister, Tina Louise (at birth); and his canine buddy, Mandy.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, and from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial to follow at Greenmound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
