Winter farmers’markets

If, like me, you are missing the farmers market season when we are this deep into winter, don’t despair. There are several options for indoor markets in our area. Take a field trip and discover the treats and treasures in all of them — an activity that is sure to tantalize your senses and warm your stomach.

  • Worthington Winter Market — Griswold Center, 777 High St. Open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through April 23.
  • North Market — Short North, 59 Spruce St., Columbus. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
  • Columbus Winter Market — Clintonville Women’s Club, 3951 N. High St. Open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 11 and 25 and March 3 and 17.

The Delaware County Community Market, at 222 E. William St. in Delaware, is also like an indoor farmers market, so keep that in mind as a great place to “winter over” until spring.

All of these markets can be found on the Internet where you can view which vendors are available. Don’t forget now is the time to be researching your Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership as the growing season quickly approaches. A great resource is the Local Harvest website. Good luck and think spring!
