Ella Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Harding

Ella Eliz­a­beth “Betty” Hard­ing, 90, of Delaware passed away early Sat­ur­day morn­ing (Feb. 11, 2012) at the Sarah Moore Health Care Cen­ter sur­rounded by her lov­ing family.

She was born Jan. 6, 1922 in Har­bour­ton, N.J., to Paul F. and Myr­tle (Golden) John­son. She was a home­maker and a mem­ber of the Pres­by­ter­ian Church. She had been a Delaware res­i­dent for the past six years after liv­ing in Lyn­d­hurst from 1973 until 2006. She was a devoted wife and lov­ing mother which was exhib­ited in her mov­ing and relo­cat­ing her fam­ily three dif­fer­ent times to South Amer­ica (twice to Brazil and once to Argentina).

She is sur­vived by two daugh­ters, Jan­ice Gregg of Lyn­d­hurst and Jill (James) Hoovler of Delaware; son, Thomas (Karen) Hard­ing of Philo­math, Ore­gon; grand­chil­dren, Blake and Brent (Sally) Gregg, Jory and Ken­zie Hard­ing and Stephanie, Katie and Abby Hoovler; great-grandson, Hunter Gregg; and sis­ter, Paulina Joyce San­ford of Yard­ley, Pa.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and her hus­band, Chester M. Harding.

The fam­ily would like to express their sin­cere appre­ci­a­tion to the staff at the Sarah Moore Health Care Cen­ter for the lov­ing care and con­cern they pro­vided to their mother for the past six years. Pri­vate fam­ily ser­vices will be held at later date.
