James Haas

James Haas, 78, of Delaware passed away late Sat­ur­day evening (Feb. 11, 2012) at his res­i­dence sur­rounded by his son and daughter.

He was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Delaware to Fran­cis and Ethel (Cur­tis) Haas. He served his coun­try in the U.S. Army and later retired from Ohio Wes­leyan Uni­ver­sity. He was a mem­ber and for­mer altar boy for St. Mary Catholic Church and was a life­time mem­ber of the Delaware Eagles 376. He also enjoyed fish­ing and hunting.

He is sur­vived by a son and daugh­ter and her hus­band of Delaware and a brother and a sister.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife of 50 years, two sis­ters and a brother.

Grave­side ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Sat­ur­day, Feb. 18, at St. Mary Ceme­tery with the Rev. James Black officiating.

The fam­ily requests con­tri­bu­tions in his mem­ory be made to the Coun­cil for Older Adults or Home­Reach Hospice.
