Rose E. Martin

Rose E. Mar­tin, 74, of Ash­ley passed away Wednes­day (Feb. 1, 2012) at her residence.

She was born May 8, 1937 in Ash­ley to Lloyd Andrew and Frances (Young) Foust. Rose enjoyed quilt­ing, knit­ting, bird watch­ing, read­ing west­erns and cookbooks.

Rose is sur­vived by her six chil­dren, Robert Pow­ers of Sara­sota, Fla., Rose (JoAnn) Pow­ers of Delaware, Pamela (Michael) of Delaware, Kath­leen (Sam) Partin of St. Joseph, Mich., David Mar­tin of Delaware and Lucy Pow­ers of Ash­ley; nine grand­chil­dren, Robert Jr., Steven, Patti, Angie, Samuel, Shelly, Jes­sica, Chad and Shan­non; five great-grandchildren, Scot­tie, Kaden, Kait­lyn, Car­son and Alex; and three sis­ters, JoAnne Row­land, Shirley Hei­dle­berg and Glo­ria Lyons.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; her hus­band, Adam H. Mar­tin; a son, James Bryan Pow­ers; a brother, Lloyd A. Foust Jr.; and three sis­ters, Sharon Adkins, Rita Foust and Mary Knauber.

A memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held at noon Sat­ur­day, Feb. 4, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home in Ash­ley, with the fam­ily receiv­ing friends one hour prior to the memo­r­ial ser­vice. The fam­ily will hold a grave­side ser­vice at a later date in the West­field Cemetery.
