Sondra L. Sparks

Son­dra L. Sparks, 73, of Ash­ley passed away Tues­day (Feb. 7, 2012) sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily and friends at Grady Memo­r­ial Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1938, in Ash­ley to Clyde and Betty (Young) Lowther. Son­dra was known as a very car­ing and lov­ing per­son who enjoyed spend­ing time with her great-grandchildren and with her friends on Face­book. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, tak­ing long dri­ves in car and trav­el­ing to new places.

Son­dra is sur­vived by her hus­band of 55 years, Ronald; a daugh­ter, Becky Nel­son Miller of Delaware; a son, Ron Sparks Jr. of Ash­ley; three grand­chil­dren, Lyn­d­sey Nel­son, Tonya Ropp and Tyler Emmons; four great-grandchildren, Key­onna, Bre­ana, Kami and Matthew; four sis­ters, Mary Lacross, Chrys­tal Eding­ton, Mar­guita (Harley) Hines and Melody (Jerry) Emmons; two broth­ers, Clyde (June) Lowther and Jeff Lowther; a brother-in-law, George Sparks; and sev­eral nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; and a grand­son, Cody Sparks.

A memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held for Son­dra at 1 p.m. Sat­ur­day, Feb. 11, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home in Ash­ley with the fam­ily receiv­ing friends one hour prior to the start of the memo­r­ial service.
