Thelma Melinda (Davis) Fox

Thelma Melinda (Davis) Fox, 93, of Wash­ing­ton Cour­t­house, passed away on Tues­day, (Feb. 7, 2012) at Court House Manor Nurs­ing Home.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1918 in Rad­nor to Lewis and Mary Min­erva Davis. She was born on the fam­ily farm and was the youngest of five girls, Coreen, Norma, Gladys and Jen­nie Lou. She worked as a legal sec­re­tary for 30 years at Owens Illi­nois Glass and the Colum­bus Depot. She was also an accom­plished seam­stress and enjoyed mak­ing her own clothes. Thelma and her hus­band had a love of ani­mals. They owned race horses for a period of time and even raised mink. They had a spe­cial love for their dog, Candy.

Sur­vivors include her mid­dle sis­ter, Gladys Gries; her cousin, Jean Flahive of Delaware,; as well as sev­eral nieces and nephews.

Thelma was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of 60 years, Harold Fox, who passed away in 2001.

There will be no view­ing. A pri­vate memo­r­ial will be held at a later date at Pleas­ant Ceme­tery in Mt. Sterling.

Thanks to Dr. Gay and Court House Manor for the lov­ing care of the nurses and staff the last years of Thelma’s life, and for the sup­port of many friends who vis­ited and sent cards.
