Virginia “Ginny” Vance

Vir­ginia “Ginny” Vance, 82, of Delaware died Fri­day (Feb. 17, 2012) in Kimes Nurs­ing Home in Athens.

She was born June 2, 1929 in Jack­son to Hugh and Jessie (Carter) Porter. She was a grad­u­ate of Cam­bridge High School. A res­i­dent of Delaware since 1965, she was a mem­ber of the Lions Club and was an avid golfer and bowler.

She is sur­vived by two sis­ters, Sara (George) Bankes of Zanesville and Edith Pow­ell of Athens, and nieces and nephews.

She was pre­ceded in death by a sis­ter, Margie Owens, and by her hus­band, Don­ald who died March 12, 2011.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Fri­day at the Robin­son Funeral Home where a funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 2 p.m. with Rich Apple­garth offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Oak Grove Cemetery.
