Charles R. Holland Sr.

Charles R. Hol­land Sr., 78, of Har­ris­burg, Pa., entered eter­nal life on March 7, 2012.

Born and edu­cated in Rocky Mount, Va., he was a retired mechan­i­cal super­vi­sor from the for­mer Amer­i­can Can Com­pany and enjoyed golfing.

Sur­viv­ing are his wife, Ruthella Hol­land; chil­dren, Linda Pow­ell (Ray), Cathy Hol­land, Charles R. Hol­land Jr. (Gail), Trevor Hol­land (Michelle), Paige Hawthorne (Derek); sib­lings, Mar­garet Smith, Edna Price, Ruth Green, Andrew Hol­land; nine grand­chil­dren, 24 great grand­chil­dren; other rel­a­tives and friends.

He was pre­de­ceased by his mother, Mary Hol­land; and son, Johnathan E. Holland.

Mr. Holland’s life will be cel­e­brated at noon, Wednes­day, March 14, at Wal­lace Funeral Direc­tors, 106 Agnes St., Har­ris­burg, with view­ing from 11 a.m. to noon and inter­ment at Pax­tang Ceme­tery, Har­ris­burg, wallacefd.com.
