Donna Fawn Christman

Donna Fawn Christ­man, 76, of West­er­ville passed away Mon­day (March 5, 2012).

She was born June 30, 1935, in Colum­bus to the late Voi­letta and Oliver Gib­son. Donna was a grad­u­ate of Pow­ell High School and The Ohio State Uni­ver­sity where she was a life mem­ber of the Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion. She taught ortho­pe­di­cally hand­i­capped stu­dents for 43 ½ years end­ing her long career at Col­erain Ele­men­tary School in Colum­bus. She was a mem­ber of Sweet Ade­lines of Colum­bus. Donna was also a 45-year mem­ber of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teach­ing soror­ity, and served in many capac­i­ties. She loved music, read­ing, trav­el­ing, cook­ing, shop­ping, dec­o­rat­ing and time with her family.

She is sur­vived by her brother, Creighton (Dianna) Gib­son; niece, Mary S. McCormick; nephew, Jar­ratt M. Gib­son; and great-nephews, Brett E. Day and Josh M. Gibson.

She was pre­ceded in death by hus­band, Terry Christ­man, and nephew, Steven Oliver Gibson.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sat­ur­day, March 10, at the Ruther­ford Funeral Home at Pow­ell, 450 W. Olen­tangy St., Pow­ell, where a memo­r­ial ser­vice will fol­low at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Brown, offi­ci­at­ing. (The funeral home is located on West Olen­tangy Street/Powell Road/Ohio 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.)
