Jane Davis Zwayer

Jane Davis Zwayer, 92, of Piqua and for­merly of Delaware died at 8:45 a.m. Wednes­day (March 28, 2012) at Piqua Manor.

She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Delaware to the late John E. and Grace (Miller) Davis. She mar­ried Ger­ald “Jerry” Zwayer on Dec. 19, 1943, in Delaware; he pre­ceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2004. Mrs. Zwayer was a 1937 grad­u­ate of Frank B. Willis High School, a 1939 grad­u­ate of Bliss Busi­ness Col­lege and attended The Ohio State Uni­ver­sity. She was a mem­ber of West­min­ster Pres­by­ter­ian Church. Jane was the past pres­i­dent of Entri Nous Women’s Club of Peo­ria, Ill., and was an avid golfer and bridge player while liv­ing in Peo­ria, West­ern Springs, Ill., and Piqua. She worked for Pretty Penny, a women’s shop in West­ern Springs, and upon return­ing to Piqua, she worked for Barclay’s for four years.

Sur­vivors include a son, Gary (Laura) Zwayer of The Vil­lages, Fla.; a daugh­ter, Janet Con­verse of Piqua; two grand­chil­dren, Amanda (Ed) Frantzen of LaGrange, Ill., and Joseph Con­verse of Toledo; and three great-grandchildren, Max, Emily and Zan­der Frantzen.

She was pre­ceded in death by a brother, Zach Davis; and a sis­ter, Ruth Davis.

A pri­vate memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held at the con­ve­nience of the fam­ily. Arrange­ments are being con­ducted through the Jamieson & Yan­nucci Funeral Home.
