Joseph G. ‘Joe’ Kayser

Joseph G. “Joe” Kayser, 48, of West­er­ville passed away unex­pect­edly Tues­day (March 27, 2012) amongst the stars.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1963, in Colum­bus to Ver­non and Sally (Bar­bee) Kayser of West­er­ville. A grad­u­ate of Big Wal­nut High School in 1982, he also attended Colum­bus State Uni­ver­sity. He worked at Kal Kan in Colum­bus prior to pur­chas­ing Fracasso’s Vil­lage Pizza, which he owned and oper­ated for 10 years. A man of many inter­ests, he enjoyed fish­ing at Lake Erie and on the waters of his own pond, golf­ing at Table Rock Golf Course and wood work­ing. Always the joke­ster, he had a pas­sion for rock music. A hard worker, he was a mem­ber of var­i­ous restau­rant asso­ci­a­tions, and was always will­ing to lend a help­ing hand to any­one in need. His heart swelled with a love for all peo­ple, but most of all for his beloved daugh­ters. Whether it was hunt­ing night crawlers or singing Twin­kle Twin­kle Lit­tle Star, they were the cen­ter of his life. He also trea­sured his dogs, but his rela­tion­ships, fam­ily and friends were the most impor­tant things he val­ued in life.

In addi­tion to his par­ents, he is also sur­vived by beloved daugh­ters, Amber and Ash­ley; sis­ters, LeAnn Kayser of West­er­ville and Jen­nifer (Brian) McClary of Sun­bury; niece, Madi­son McClary; girl­friend, LeAnne VanAntwerp of Delaware; for­mer wife, Robin Kayser of Sun­bury; the crew at Fracasso’s Pizza; and a host of friends.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 2 p.m. Sat­ur­day, March 31, in the Fancher Ceme­tery with the Rev. Wayne Booth offi­ci­at­ing. A memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held Sat­ur­day, April 14, at a time to be announced later at Genoa Bap­tist Church, 7562 Lewis Cen­ter Road, West­er­ville. Arrange­ments are entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
