Karen Lee Schnees

Karen Lee Schnees, 58, a 40-year res­i­dent of Delaware County passed away early Tues­day (March 6, 2012) at Grady Memo­r­ial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 23, 1953 in Mar­ion to the late Dwight and JoAnn (Grubb) Hughes. Karen was a grad­u­ate of Buck­eye Val­ley High School class of 1972. After high school she began work­ing for Fidelity Fed­eral and has been there ever since. She loved to sit on her back porch and watch the birds and enjoy her flow­ers. Karen was a mem­ber of the Red­men Lodge Mingo 80 and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Larry Schnees; a daugh­ter, Danielle Schnees; a step­son, Lawrence; a step­daugh­ter, Diana; sev­eral grand­chil­dren; a sis­ter, Cindy (Larry) Hughes Lane; a brother, Lynn (Ginny) Hughes; and many lov­ing aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karen was pre­ceded in death by her parents.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fri­day, March 9. A funeral ser­vice will fol­low at 1 p.m. at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home with inter­ment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
