Mark Patrick Manns

Mark Patrick Manns, 56, of Ostran­der jour­neyed from this life to the next on Sun­day (Feb. 19, 2012) with his loved ones by his side.

Mark was born June 9, 1955, to Dorothy and Joseph Manns. Mark was a Dublin High School grad­u­ate and attended Mesa Ari­zona Com­mu­nity Col­lege and The Ohio State Uni­ver­sity. He was an extremely tal­ented home builder and crafts­man. He was an avid Jeep enthu­si­ast and espe­cially enjoyed the Willy’s Jeep. In his younger days, Mark raced motor cross and had a life­time mem­ber­ship as a mud dober. Mark was a com­pas­sion­ate, kind man that val­ued his fam­ily above all else. Mark held a deep rev­er­ence for the beauty of the Mill Creek area where he resided with his wife and two chil­dren for nearly 30 years.

Mark is sur­vived by his wife, Diane; and their two daugh­ters, Jenna (Scott) Beck­ett of Williamsport, Ind., and Kara Manns of Pao­nia, Colo. He loved his three won­der­ful grand­chil­dren, Abi­gail and Travis Beck­ett and Otto Manns-Zumwalt.

Also sur­viv­ing are his mother, Dorothy Manns; five sib­lings, Stephanie (Dick) Rose, Car­olyn Krauss, Deb­bie (Jim) Bar­l­ey­corn, David Manns and Doug (San­dra) Manns; sis­ter in-law, Susan (Thane) Young; brother-in-law, Bill (Sandy) George; mother-in-law, Ginny George; numer­ous nieces and nephews; and many won­der­ful, close friends.

Mark’s fam­ily will hold a cel­e­bra­tion of his life on Sat­ur­day, March 3, at the Scioto Reserve Coun­try Club, 7383 Scioto Park­way, Pow­ell. An open house will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and will con­tinue with the cel­e­bra­tion with friends shar­ing mem­o­ries from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mark was a very hum­ble, gen­er­ous human­i­tar­ian. In lieu of flow­ers, please honor his mem­ory by donat­ing to a char­ity of your choice or pay it for­ward with an act of kind­ness to your fel­low human being.
