Mary M. Mitchell

Mary M. Mitchell, 82, of Delaware died Wednes­day (March 28, 2012) in Win­ter­song Village.

She was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Vicey, Va., to Willoughby and Marida Deel. She was a retired employee of Bun’s Restaurant.

Mary is sur­vived by five daugh­ters, Dora Clary of Mount Ver­non, Mary Par­sons, Car­o­line Corn­well, Del­phine Daniel­son, all of Green Cove Springs, Fla. and Mar­garet Pea­cock of El Paso, Texas; three sons, James Short­ridge of Delaware, William Hower of Crokett, Texas, and Charles Hower of Dal­las, Ga.; three broth­ers, Mar­lin Deel of St. Augus­tine, Fla., Vadie (Betty) Deel and Howard Deel both of Delaware; three sis­ters, Mali­cia Pyles of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Martha (Wil­son) Rice of Nor­ris­town, Tenn., and Doshie (Odis) Ratliff of Delaware; and a host of grand­chil­dren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was pre­ceded in death by four infant sons, Thomas, John­nie, Ron­nie and Lon­nie Shortridge.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sat­ur­day at the Robin­son Funeral Home. Grave­side ser­vice and inter­ment will be at 1:30 p.m. Mon­day in Fairview Memo­r­ial Park with the Rev. Dan Mau­rer officiating.
