Robert E. Collins, 42, of Delaware died suddenly Wednesday (July 18, 2012) in Columbus from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born in Delaware on Oct. 25, 1969, he was a graduate of Buckeye Valley High School and Delaware JVS in 1989. Self employed, he worked in the construction and painting trades. With a very easygoing personality, he was one who loved building and tinkering with his hands. Always worried about his family, he was a flirtatious practical joker. Robert attended the Lake Street Church of God in Delaware and favored movies and playing video games. Simply put, he enjoyed life.
He is survived by daughter, Kasaundra M. Collins; mother, Margaret L. (Tipton) Collins; brothers, John of Richwood, Donald (Norma) of Tiffin, William (Jill) of Cardington and Kenneth (Pam) of Delaware; sisters, Wanda Collins of Delaware and Bonnie (Burnis) Evans of Ashley; and many other half brothers and sisters.
He was born to Virgil and Roberta Collins, but was adopted by his grandfather Rush Collins who preceded him in death in 2004; his grandmother, Velvet Collins died in 1977; and step-brother, James “Jimmy” Todd in 1993.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in Marlborough Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Maurer officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
Memorial contributions may be directed to his family to assist with expenses.
