Trash or treasure? Find out at the library
Do you have a family heirloom, a curious knickknack or an objet d’art hanging around your house and you’ve always wondered if it is worth anything? Here’s your chance to find out, and to help out the Delaware County District Library’s Friends of the Library (FOL) at the same time.
The FOL will host its second annual Antique Appraisal Fair on Wednesday, March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Orange Branch, 7171 Gooding Blvd., Delaware, in the Community Meeting Room. For a $5 donation per item (limit 2 per person), Steve Bemiller of Garth’s Auctions will give you an informal appraisal of your found treasure, with all proceeds benefitting the Friends of the Delaware County District Library.
Garth’s Auctions has been a national force in the world of antiques and fine art since its founding by Garth Oberlander in the early 1950s. Steve Bemiller, Executive Vice President, Consignor Representative and Auctioneer joined Garth’s in 1971, and shares his knowledge of antiques by conducting well over 50 lectures and appraisal clinics all over Ohio each year.
This event is open to the public, so feel free to invite a friend as you come out to support the FOL’s first fundraising event of 2012.
