Chloris ‘Cori’ Ladonna Conner Williams

Chloris “Cori” Ladonna Conner Williams, 92, of Delaware passed away at home Sunday (April 22, 2012).

She was born on Jan. 13, 1920, in Coshocton County to the late Forrest L. and Lola M. (Mohr) Conner. A graduate of Plainfield High School in 1939, she was a meticulous student. Cori was employed at the Lazarus Co., working as a checker, slip cover maker, pre-retail assistant and import desk associate. A resident of Columbus the majority of her life, she moved to Delaware in 2005 to be near family. Forever spiritual, she was a member of the North Broadway United Methodist Church and a former member of the O.E.S. Most loyal to every family member, she was honest and found the good in everyone. She was multi-generational and always found ways to be included in her family’s activities. She was happiest outdoors, tending to her yard, lawn and rose garden. She loved to read The Columbus Dispatch, even doing so to the very end. Though she did not have children of her own, Cori will be remembered for her love of children, as she was a mother to many.

She is survived by sister-in-law, Sara (Tumblin) Conner Cox of Knoxville, Tenn.; nieces and nephews, Teresa (Jerry) Massey of Troy, Carol (Charles) Duncan of Warsaw, Cecil (Judy) Shroyer, Gary (Becky) Shroyer of Coshocton, Marlene (Joseph) Griffith all of Coshocton, Bobby (Rita) Conner of Barrington, Ill., Marcia (Tom) Kring of Powell, Tenn., and Larry (Cynthia) Conner of Wisconsin; beautician, help mate and niece, Kay Shroyer of Delaware, as well as many loved great-nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” in 1975, brothers, Kenneth and Carl Conner; sisters, Helen (Eugene) Shroyer and Pearl (Clarence) Lahna; niece, Nancy (Conner) Forsyth; and nephew, K. Richard “Dick” Shroyer.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and services will follow at 4 p.m. in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating. Friends are then invited to join the family for food and fellowship in the funeral home community room following the services.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Council for Older Adults for the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
