Doris Virginia (Coen) Groves

Doris Vir­ginia (Coen) Groves, 94, of Delaware passed away early Tues­day morn­ing (April 10, 2012) at the Delaware Court Nurs­ing Home.

She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Marengo to Jay and Frances Lee (Titus) Hick­son. She retired from Abex Indus­tries and was a mem­ber of the Kil­bourne United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fish­ing while liv­ing in Florida and also enjoyed attend­ing her grand­chil­dren and great-grandchildren’s sport­ing activities.

She is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Shirley (John) Humes of Delaware; grand­son, Jef­fery (Elaine) Humes of Delaware; grand­daugh­ter, April (James) Squire of Granville; two great-grandsons, Ross Humes of Beaver­creek and Gar­rett Humes of Cleve­land; stepgreat-grandson, Gra­ham Squire; three step­daugh­ters, Terri (Craig) Eisen­brandt of Vero Beach, Fla., Tami (Jeff) Feath­er­ston of Grain Val­ley, Mo., and Vicki Gam­ble of Lees­burg, Fla.; sev­eral step­grand­chil­dren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and numer­ous nieces and nephews.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; first hus­band; Albert Coen; sec­ond hus­band, Richard Allen Groves; five broth­ers, Ralph, Homer, Vir­gil, Roy and Rus­sell Hick­son; and two sis­ters, Ruth Beheler and Dorothy Morgan.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Fri­day, April 13, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Drive, Delaware, and where funeral ser­vices will be held at 10 a.m. Sat­ur­day, April 14, with the Rev. Don Lock­wood offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Stan­ton­town Cemetery.
