Doris Virginia (Coen) Groves, 94, of Delaware passed away early Tuesday morning (April 10, 2012) at the Delaware Court Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Marengo to Jay and Frances Lee (Titus) Hickson. She retired from Abex Industries and was a member of the Kilbourne United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing while living in Florida and also enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (John) Humes of Delaware; grandson, Jeffery (Elaine) Humes of Delaware; granddaughter, April (James) Squire of Granville; two great-grandsons, Ross Humes of Beavercreek and Garrett Humes of Cleveland; stepgreat-grandson, Graham Squire; three stepdaughters, Terri (Craig) Eisenbrandt of Vero Beach, Fla., Tami (Jeff) Featherston of Grain Valley, Mo., and Vicki Gamble of Leesburg, Fla.; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; Albert Coen; second husband, Richard Allen Groves; five brothers, Ralph, Homer, Virgil, Roy and Russell Hickson; and two sisters, Ruth Beheler and Dorothy Morgan.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, and where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, with the Rev. Don Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in Stantontown Cemetery.
