Jack R. Cole

Jack R. Cole, 84, of Sun­bury passed away Easter Sun­day morn­ing (April 8, 2012) at his win­ter res­i­dence in Okee­chobee, Fla.

He was born July 27, 1927, in Colum­bus to Ray­mond F. and Muriel Beard Cole. A local res­i­dent since 1969, he was a World War II Navy Vet­eran and retired as lieu­tenant from the Colum­bus Police Force. He was a mem­ber of the Hiram Masonic Lodge 18 and was past Mas­ter of the Ash­ley Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fish­ing, hunt­ing and play­ing cards, and was a mem­ber of the Stan­ton­town Advent Chris­t­ian Church as well as the Okee­chobee Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church.

He is sur­vived by daugh­ter, Janet (Tim) Hawx­hurst of Colum­bus; son, Tommy (Sharon) Cole of Marengo and stepchil­dren, Bev­erly (Bill) Carr and Ronald Den­ney of Colum­bus; 10 grand­chil­dren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Mil­dred in 2009; a twin brother, Richard; and a sis­ter, Betty Corso.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thurs­day, April 12, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Drive, Delaware, with Masonic ser­vices at 8 p.m. Funeral ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Fri­day at the Stan­ton­town Advent Chris­t­ian Church with the Rev. Keith Daniels offi­ci­at­ing. Inter­ment will fol­low in Green­mound Cemetery.
