Michael R. Teets

Michael R. Teets, 70, of Rad­nor passed away Tues­day (April 24, 2012) at River­side Methodist Hospital.

He was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Mar­ion to the late Ernest and Anna (Tem­men) Teets. A 1959 grad­u­ate of Mar­ion Catholic High School, Mike met his wife, Sharon at a stop sign while “shoot­ing the loop.” They were mar­ried Aug. 13, 1966. Mike went on to serve his county in the U.S. Army dur­ing Viet­nam. He went on to work for PPG Indus­tries, retir­ing after more than 30 years. As a life­long Demo­c­rat, Mike enjoyed polit­i­cal dis­course with his repub­li­can fam­ily and friends. His sec­ond fam­ily was his bud­dies at the Amer­i­can Legion Post 605 in Waldo. Mike enjoyed wood­work­ing, vaca­tion­ing in Marco Island, Fla., with his wife and vis­it­ing the river­boat casi­nos in Indiana.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Sharon (Welch) Teets; son, William R. (Stacey) Teets of Wor­thing­ton; daugh­ter, Diana L. (Rick) Cramer of Marengo; grand­chil­dren, Shelby and Claire Teets; brother, Roy (Betty) Teets of Mar­ion; and sisters-in-law, Mary Teets of Ken­ton and Pam (Kent) Nielsen of Hawaii as well as numer­ous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addi­tion to his par­ents, Mike was pre­ceded in death by his brother, Bob Teets, and sis­ter, Mar­garet Brown.

The fam­ily will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sun­day at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Drive, Delaware, where a memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. Mon­day, April 30, with Cel­e­brant Don Lock­wood offi­ci­at­ing. Friends are invited to join the fam­ily after the ser­vice for food and fel­low­ship at the Amer­i­can Legion Post 605.

Flow­ers are accepted or dona­tions can be made in Mike’s name to your local Sal­va­tion Army.
