Opal Bower, 90, of Delaware passed away Wednesday evening (April 11, 2012) at Countryview of Sunbury.
She was born May 5, 1921 in Richwood to Samuel Pearl and Otis Evelyn (Robertson) Landes. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, the outdoors, music, spending time with her children and all her animals. She also attended Delaware Bible Church.
She is survived by a son, James (Dottie) Bower of Westerville; two daughters, Pearle Evelyn Bower of Kent and Stella Louise (Greg) Cunningham of Delaware; seven grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Bower Jr. on Sept. 17, 2000; two brothers, Lowell and Jesse Landes; and one sister, Florence Everly.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, and where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, with the Rev. Marvin Hintz officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside services, the family invites all attendees to the Rodman Neeper Community Room for a time of nourishment and additional fellowship.
