Orville E. Isenbarg

Orville E. Isen­barg, known to us as “Ike” or “Lefty” unex­pect­edly departed this earth at 3:40 p.m. Fri­day (April 20, 2012) at Grady Memo­r­ial Hospital.

He was the son of Clarence and Leona Isen­barg, born July 22, 1926. A World War II vet­eran, based at Pearl Har­bor, he proudly served our coun­try as a U.S. Naval CB from Nov. 24, 1944 to June 11, 1946. He retired from Gen­eral Motors Cor­po­ra­tion, Fisher Body Divi­sion of Colum­bus after 30 years of employ­ment. After retir­ing, he worked for 10 years with the Olen­tangy Schools trans­porta­tion depart­ment dri­ving schools bus routes and school trips. He was a proud hus­band and father of four who stayed actively involved with fam­ily and local com­mu­nity to the end of his fruit­ful life.

He leaves behind a brother, Ralph Leo, 85; a daugh­ter, Vic­to­ria, 61; a son, Richard, 60; a daughter-in-law Linda, 59; and a son, Patrick, 56. He has 16 grand­chil­dren and 27 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by fam­ily and friends alike.

He was pre­ceded in death by his old­est son, Ralph; and by his lov­ing wife of 54 years, Jacqueline.

Fam­ily will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tues­day, April 24, at Schoedinger Wor­thing­ton Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Wor­thing­ton (just south of Inter­state 270), where the funeral ser­vice will be held at 1 p.m. Wednes­day. Pri­vate inurn­ment will be at a later date.
