Robert E. ‘Bob’ Potts

Robert E. “Bob” Potts, 81, of Delaware passed away Fri­day morn­ing (April 20, 2012) at Arbors of Delaware.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1930, in Colum­bus to the late Earl H. and Mabel F. (McClel­land) Potts. Handy in many ways, Bob retired from The Ohio State Uni­ver­sity Hos­pi­tal, where he worked as an elec­tri­cian. At the age of 12, he became a mem­ber of the Lib­erty Pres­by­ter­ian Church. He served the church mem­ber­ship in numer­ous capac­i­ties, as a sound engi­neer, grounds main­te­nance and gen­eral helper. With an artis­tic eye, he enjoyed wood­work­ing, paint­ing and gen­eral arts in his younger years. Dili­gent, con­sci­en­tious and well liked, he was always will­ing to lend a help­ing hand. He was one who just couldn’t say no and had the atti­tude that he could save the world.

He is sur­vived by son, Michael Dav­en­port of Ver­mont; sis­ter, Mar­garet “Peggy” Potts of Delaware; brother, William “Bill” Potts of Michi­gan; nephew, Gilbert Potts; and nieces, Alysia Peck, San­dra Zeier and Mar­i­lyn Potts.

He was also pre­ceded in death by son, Robert Dav­en­port; brother, John H. Potts; and sis­ter, Mary Jane Potts.

Memo­r­ial ser­vices will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sat­ur­day, April 28, at Lib­erty Pres­by­ter­ian Church Chapel in the orig­i­nal White Church Chapel. A recep­tion, hosted by Sky Farm Chapel, will fol­low in the 12 step room. Arrange­ments were entrusted to the Rodman-Neeper Funeral Home in Delaware.
