Robert E. ‘Bob’ Potts
Robert E. “Bob” Potts, 81, of Delaware passed away Friday morning (April 20, 2012) at Arbors of Delaware.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1930, in Columbus to the late Earl H. and Mabel F. (McClelland) Potts. Handy in many ways, Bob retired from The Ohio State University Hospital, where he worked as an electrician. At the age of 12, he became a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church. He served the church membership in numerous capacities, as a sound engineer, grounds maintenance and general helper. With an artistic eye, he enjoyed woodworking, painting and general arts in his younger years. Diligent, conscientious and well liked, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was one who just couldn’t say no and had the attitude that he could save the world.
He is survived by son, Michael Davenport of Vermont; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Potts of Delaware; brother, William “Bill” Potts of Michigan; nephew, Gilbert Potts; and nieces, Alysia Peck, Sandra Zeier and Marilyn Potts.
He was also preceded in death by son, Robert Davenport; brother, John H. Potts; and sister, Mary Jane Potts.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Liberty Presbyterian Church Chapel in the original White Church Chapel. A reception, hosted by Sky Farm Chapel, will follow in the 12 step room. Arrangements were entrusted to the Rodman-Neeper Funeral Home in Delaware.
