Floyd D. Adams

Floyd D. Adams, 76, of Lex­ing­ton passed away Fri­day (May 4, 2012) fol­low­ing a long illness.

He was born Jan. 30, 1936 in Colum­bus to Lewis Fred­er­ick and Anna Mae (Lewis) Adams. Floyd served two years in the U.S. Army. Floyd worked as a police offi­cer in Ashley.

Floyd is sur­vived by a step­daugh­ter, Deb­o­rah (Roy) Shonk of Ash­ley; three grand­chil­dren, Vir­ginia “Gin­ger” (Hans Jones) May­berry of Lex­ing­ton, Orion Dale Wilde of Ash­ley and Valerie (Rusty) Williams of Galion; a brother, Don (Nancy) Adams of Mount Ver­non; and numer­ous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addi­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by sib­lings, Irene Strait, Richard, Harold, Wal­ter and Jerry Adams.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Fri­day, May 11, at the Lex­ing­ton Avenue Sny­der Funeral Home, Mans­field, 419–884-1711. Fol­low­ing the vis­i­ta­tion, mil­i­tary hon­ors will be held on the grounds of the funeral home.
