Guy von Harringa

Guy von Har­ringa, 26, of Delaware, rejoined his Lord and Sav­ior Mon­day (May 14, 2012).

He was born on Oct. 20, 1985, in Texas to Ernst “Gun­ther” and Lindy Lu (Gun­ther) von Har­ringa of Delaware. Bril­liantly minded, he was schooled at home and after sev­eral quar­ters at The Ohio State Uni­ver­sity, he then stud­ied neural sci­ence at the Uni­ver­sity of Cal­i­for­nia at San Diego. While a stu­dent he also served as Inter­net tech­ni­cian and mas­ter for Fam­ily Sta­tions Inc. and Bible Min­istries Inter­na­tional. A Chris­t­ian, he loved and stud­ied the Bible. He was led to serve the Lord and prop­a­gate the gospel. Kind and never judg­men­tal he trea­sured his sib­lings. A gifted writer and speaker, he was good with chil­dren and his knowl­edge of the Bible. He was at his best speak­ing with oth­ers about the scrip­tures. Tech savvy, he pro­vided numer­ous inter­views and edi­to­ri­als regard­ing his knowl­edge of the Bible. He was a tal­ented cook and pre­pared each meal whether big or small with extreme care. He will be remem­bered for singing hymns as well as his love for the Lord and his family.

Those left to cher­ish his mem­ory include his par­ents and trea­sured 14 sib­lings, Alene Deb­o­rah (Mark) Hewitt of Delaware, Gun­ther Jr. of N. J., Charissa of Colum­bus, Ernst R. of Hay­wood, Calif., Heidi of Colum­bus, Han­nah of Colum­bus, Naomi C. of Oak­land, Calif., Baron, Tabitha “Lizzy,” Karl J. of Delaware, Wolf­gang, Maria Luisa, Jacob T. and Sarah Abi­gail von Har­ringa all of Delaware; nieces and nephews, Nehemiah, Esther, Jonah, Naomi Ruth, Lydia and the Rev. John Wes­ley Gun­ther, and Rubena Ewell; a host of friends includ­ing Gary and Vio­let Bur­gett, Chris (Maria) McCann, Thomas Holt, Harold and Shirley Camp­ing, Guy Berry, Robert Fitz­patrick, Sophia Golden, Tom and Christina Evans, Dan Downey, Bill Thorn­ton, Sue Espinoza, George Finn, Bob James and Mike Cook.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs­day at the Rodman-Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. at Val­ley­side Dr., Delaware, where ser­vices will be held at 10 a.m. Fri­day with Chris McCann offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Fairview Cemetery.
