Kathleen E. ‘Kathy’ Cain

Kath­leen E. “Kathy” Cain, 45, of Delaware passed away peace­fully Sat­ur­day (May 5, 2012) at OSU Med­ical Center.

She was born July 10, 1966, in Detroit. Kathy worked as a home health aide, care­taker and com­pan­ion to the elderly in need. A true altru­is­tic, Kathy was unselfishly con­cerned with the wel­fare of oth­ers over her­self. She was always the first to send a gift or a kind note and always went out of her way to help, how­ever needed. Always full of love, Kathy had a spe­cial soft spot in her heart for all ani­mals. She devoted count­less hours to the Delaware County Humane Soci­ety. Even when her ill­ness would not allow her to phys­i­cally give of her time, she would still col­lect items of need and have them deliv­ered to the shel­ter. Twice a recip­i­ent of a liver trans­plant, Kathy and her fam­ily are for­ever grate­ful to Life­line of Ohio.

Kathy is sur­vived by her hus­band of 12 years, Robert Ray­mond “Ray” Cain of Delaware; mother, Ann (Rob) Musial; step­sons, Gar­rette, Michael and Bran­don; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Deanna Kropf of West­er­ville; and her very spe­cial niece, Kait­lyn Kropf whom she affec­tion­ately called squir­rel. Kathy was also the birth­mother of Patrick Var­ley of Michigan.

She was pre­ceded in death by her father, Robert P. Kropf.

As were Kathy’s wishes, no pub­lic funeral ser­vice will be observed. DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. Williams St., Delaware, is assist­ing the fam­ily with arrangements.

In keep­ing with Kathy’s unselfishly gen­er­ous nature, the fam­ily sug­gests memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions be made in her name to either the Delaware County Humane Soci­ety, 4920 State Route 37 E., Delaware, OH 43015 or to Life­line of Ohio, 770 Kin­n­ear Road, Suite 200, Colum­bus, OH 43212.
