Kathleen E. ‘Kathy’ Cain
Kathleen E. “Kathy” Cain, 45, of Delaware passed away peacefully Saturday (May 5, 2012) at OSU Medical Center.
She was born July 10, 1966, in Detroit. Kathy worked as a home health aide, caretaker and companion to the elderly in need. A true altruistic, Kathy was unselfishly concerned with the welfare of others over herself. She was always the first to send a gift or a kind note and always went out of her way to help, however needed. Always full of love, Kathy had a special soft spot in her heart for all animals. She devoted countless hours to the Delaware County Humane Society. Even when her illness would not allow her to physically give of her time, she would still collect items of need and have them delivered to the shelter. Twice a recipient of a liver transplant, Kathy and her family are forever grateful to Lifeline of Ohio.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert Raymond “Ray” Cain of Delaware; mother, Ann (Rob) Musial; stepsons, Garrette, Michael and Brandon; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Deanna Kropf of Westerville; and her very special niece, Kaitlyn Kropf whom she affectionately called squirrel. Kathy was also the birthmother of Patrick Varley of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert P. Kropf.
As were Kathy’s wishes, no public funeral service will be observed. DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. Williams St., Delaware, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In keeping with Kathy’s unselfishly generous nature, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to either the Delaware County Humane Society, 4920 State Route 37 E., Delaware, OH 43015 or to Lifeline of Ohio, 770 Kinnear Road, Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43212.
