Welcome Farmer’s Market season

I love this time of year — ’tis the sea­son for out­door mar­kets and they abound in Delaware County — so many oppor­tu­ni­ties, so lit­tle time. My goal this year is to make it to all of the mar­kets below at least a few times each before it’s all over (which is much too quickly by my way of thinking).

The Orig­i­nal Delaware Farm­ers’ Mar­ket: starts Sat­ur­day, May 19, and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Sat­ur­day at the Delaware County Fair­grounds. They col­lect and recy­cle used con­tain­ers for pro­duce (like berry bas­kets, grape tomato car­tons, etc…) For more infor­ma­tion con­tact Dolly Wysocki at 740–747-2296.

Main Street Delaware Farm­ers’ Mar­ket: starts May 26 and runs from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednes­day and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sat­ur­days along North San­dusky Street in down­town Delaware. For more infor­ma­tion, please call 740–362-6050.

Sun­bury Farm­ers’ Mar­ket: starts May 26 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Sat­ur­day at the Sun­bury Town Square. For more infor­ma­tion, call 740–965-2860.

Pow­ell Farm­ers’ Mar­ket: starts June 2 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Sat­ur­day at the park­ing lot at 15 E. Olen­tangy St. in down­town Pow­ell. For more infor­ma­tion, call 614–888-1090.

The Olde Wor­thing­ton Farmer’s Mar­ket: starts May 12 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Sat­ur­day along the side­walks of High Street in down­town Wor­thing­ton. For more infor­ma­tion, call Jaime Moore at 614–285-5341.

Uptown West­er­ville Farm­ers’ Mar­ket: started May 2 and runs from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednes­day at the cor­ner of State and Home streets. For more infor­ma­tion, con­tact info@marketwednesday.com. West­er­ville also has a Sat­ur­day Uptown Mar­ket fea­tur­ing arts, crafts, pro­duce and more from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sat­ur­day start­ing June 4 in the same spot.

Enjoy the out­door mar­ket sea­son! Don’t for­get to stop in at the Delaware County Com­mu­nity Mar­ket when you are out and about where you will find some of your favorite farmer’s mar­ket ven­dors and lunch. They are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon­days through Fri­days, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat­ur­days and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
