Welcome Farmer’s Market season
I love this time of year — ’tis the season for outdoor markets and they abound in Delaware County — so many opportunities, so little time. My goal this year is to make it to all of the markets below at least a few times each before it’s all over (which is much too quickly by my way of thinking).
The Original Delaware Farmers’ Market: starts Saturday, May 19, and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. They collect and recycle used containers for produce (like berry baskets, grape tomato cartons, etc…) For more information contact Dolly Wysocki at 740–747-2296.
Main Street Delaware Farmers’ Market: starts May 26 and runs from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays along North Sandusky Street in downtown Delaware. For more information, please call 740–362-6050.
Sunbury Farmers’ Market: starts May 26 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at the Sunbury Town Square. For more information, call 740–965-2860.
Powell Farmers’ Market: starts June 2 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at the parking lot at 15 E. Olentangy St. in downtown Powell. For more information, call 614–888-1090.
The Olde Worthington Farmer’s Market: starts May 12 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday along the sidewalks of High Street in downtown Worthington. For more information, call Jaime Moore at 614–285-5341.
Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market: started May 2 and runs from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday at the corner of State and Home streets. For more information, contact info@marketwednesday.com. Westerville also has a Saturday Uptown Market featuring arts, crafts, produce and more from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday starting June 4 in the same spot.
Enjoy the outdoor market season! Don’t forget to stop in at the Delaware County Community Market when you are out and about where you will find some of your favorite farmer’s market vendors and lunch. They are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
